I've actually found that Hail Mary Pass, if the opposing coach is aware of it, makes them a bit more reluctant to commit to marking and bashing your rats too heavily because they have to keep some folks in the back to deal with the possibility of you huffing it way over on their side of the pitch. I also have a Thrower with Hail Mary Pass to punish a team that over-commits players on my side of the field and ignores the Gutter Runners sitting deep in their side of the field. A Thrower with just one skill up into Accurate is terrifying. Plus, Sure Hands defends against Strip Ball, so he can make a good carrier.
I like the Thrower because it makes the Skaven more of a passing threat to the Gutters if need be. However, 4 Linerats, 4 Gutter Runners, 2 Stormvermin, 1 Thrower (Optional), 3 Rerolls, and 1 Apo is the way to go. Skaven getting numbers advantage usually results in a Skaven win. Ogre can help you get numbers advantage thanks to Mighty Blow. Prehensile Tail is pretty nice for tying up some agile teams and the R. When you get more experience, starting with a Rat Ogre CAN be viable depending on the league you're in.
